Holy cow what a week! So guess what my training is over! thats crazy! its gone so fast! Anyway that means transfers where this week and they have been the craziest transfers! We got 6 new sisters which basically doubled our sister missionary force. Also means most people are training. It was fun this week though because the day the new ones arrived I got to take some of the new sisters around contacting all by myself! I was able to talk to the taxi driver and have a very nice conversation with him and not get lost. Also the newbies are killer contacters. We even got invited into someones house to teach them (that never happens here eve.) So that was way cool but I had no idea what to do because I had never really been in that situation. So I was all like "What do we do now?" and the new missionaries were all like "you should probably introduce the gospel then teach God is our loving Heavenly Father" haha let's just say I'm glad the Holy Ghost is the teache...

"We rejoice in Christ" Week 21/ Can't Believe I am done with training/ Tet tet tet tet den roi

Chuc Mung Nam Moi! (Happy New Year) So this week has been suuuper chill. This weekend was Tet so literally nobody is in the city of Hanoi. Everybody is out in there hometowns and its so weird cuz the streets are empty and you can actually hear the birds! We mostly have just done alot of studying and cleaning and service. Only one person showed up to English class as well so even that was chill. But this week end we got invited to a bunch of members houses to come over and eat and share the gospel with there families. Traditionally Tet is celebrated over 3 days and they do different things each day to either honor family or teachers or invite good luck and fortune. Then they do a lot of eating and talking. But the first person to step into your home brings you good luck so usually you want someone important to be that person. Well one of the recent converts Chi Phuong Anh invited one of the American Families and us over and i have never eaten so much food in my life. I will be stu...

Happy Valentine's Day--Week 20 or something like that--I lose track!

Holy cow I cant even believe it but I'm almost done with training! that is crazy! But anyway Happy Valentines day everyone! hope it is awesome and you find someone to love this week! Anyway this week has started to slow down a bit because of Tet. Literally everyone is leaving the city this week but we were still able to meet Anh Hung and Chi Linh and a bunch of recent converts! We also made Kim Chi this week with one of the Korean ladies in our branch and it is sooo good but so spicy! Adventures with Bac Bon part 3: So Bac Bon (the member who sells beer and hooka things in an ally and who we go massage her hands sometimes) calls us this week and want to meet us. She sounds really excited and so naturally we are too! so we plan a really good lesson about temples because we want all the members to go to the temple in the Phillipines this summer. Anyway we go over and she takes us to her house and we go in and up like 11 flights of winding stairs to the roof balcony thing. The...

Chao Bui Sang Cac Anh Chi Em! Good morning everybody! I hope your Sabbath day was awesome! Monday: We moved! that's right we moved apartments bc the last one was very old and falling apart! but we are feeling so blessed bc the new one is sooo nice and there are so many new people to contact and talk to! Also I got a new bike bc that was also falling apart. Anh Hung is doing awesome! also he is the only one we have met with all week! It's officially Tet season which means that no one can meet with us. They all are working like crazy or gone back to their home towns. It fact we had 6 lessons scheduled last Saturday and only one of them followed through. Which was a bummer but gives us lots of opportunities for service. Anyway Anh Hung is finally getting it! He is super big into analyzing EVERYTHING and doesn't want to say any one religion is right or wrong. We keep inviting him to baptism but he said that since Moroni appeared to Joseph Smith 3 times we are going to h...

Chao Bui Sang from Vietnam! Hope everyone is doing well! We have a busy day so I'll make it short! Miracle story: So this Monday we were getting ready to go to Pho Co with a member and see the old parts of Vietnam and we get a text from a guy we contacted the other week. This contacting story was nuts cuz basically we were trying to talk to people but apparently everyone was Korean that day and no one spoke English or Vietnamese. So I said a quick prayer in my head to find someone who had been prepared by the Lord and 2 secs later out walks with guy with a sign that says Alma on it. So I'm like lets go talk to him about the Book of Mormon and Alma. so we do and we get him to download the BoM on his phone cuz we cant give them out in public. He is super interested. So anyway he texts us and wants to meet us in like half an hour. SO we quickly plan a short lesson of prayer. We go into meet with him end up teaching the whole restoration and the at the end ask it he wants to be ...

Xin Chao Gia Dinh va cac Ban cua chi Hey what is up everybody! Hope everything is going well This week has been a little slow now that Tet season is starting but we are still doing some solid work! Crazy story for the week: So last Wednesday seriously felt like we were in like some FBI show or something! We started off the day meeting one of our contacts at the mission office and he wants to keep learning the gospel! His name is Anh Manh and he has got a fantastic smile. So that rocked! and then here is the crazy part. We got a referral for this lady last week. She is dating a Cambodian who is a member and can't speak Vietnamese and lives in the US. And she can't speak Cambodian so they communicate with google translate and broken English. Anyway she wanted a Book of Mormon but she lives way far out of anybody's area. But one of the senior couples' sons was leaving for a cruise on Wednesday from the same place that she lived. So we gave him the Book in a big yello...

Declare my word and I will prepare a place for them." -D&C 31; Week 15

Xin Chao Cac Anh Chi Em... Talofa! This week our sacrament meeting turned into a Samoan branch when one of our elders (who is not even Samoan) went up to give a talk and taught everyone how to do that. It was pretty humorous. Anyway what a week! I don't think I will ever have a boring day out in the mission field. Anyway this week we spent a lot of time with members and trying to get referrals. We went to Phuong An's house and she is vegetarian and so funny and makes really good food! but we got to meet her husband and it was a huge step for us! She told us that she met him by stalking him on facebook and then wouldn't marry him until he stopped being so fat because "Vietnamese people don't like fat people. We all like to look sexy." hahah I died it was so funny! Also we had Zone training and had a couple Area Seventy come in and talk to us about not being unwearying and they talked a lot about optimism and Pres Hinckley, so I have been studying his tal...
