The worth of souls is great in the sight of God

Chao Bui Sang Cac Anh Chi Em!

Good morning everybody! I hope your Sabbath day was awesome!

Monday: We moved! that's right we moved apartments bc the last one was very old and falling apart! but we are feeling so blessed bc the new one is sooo nice and there are so many new people to contact and talk to! Also I got a new bike bc that was also falling apart.

Anh Hung is doing awesome! also he is the only one we have met with all week! It's officially Tet season which means that no one can meet with us. They all are working like crazy or gone back to their home towns. It fact we had 6 lessons scheduled last Saturday and only one of them followed through. Which was a bummer but gives us lots of opportunities for service. Anyway Anh Hung is finally getting it! He is super big into analyzing EVERYTHING and doesn't want to say any one religion is right or wrong. We keep inviting him to baptism but he said that since Moroni appeared to Joseph Smith 3 times we are going to have to ask him 3 different times haha. But the other day he just listened and asked awesome questions. We asked him about baptism after we taught the plan of salvation and he basically just said "If this is all true I am going to have to change my whole life." and then he just sat back and thought. The gospel is all about change. But it's good change, it's not easy but it is good.
We also have a new investigator Anh Hoang. We met him in the elevator and he came to the church on Saturday (bc he thought that's when our church service was) but that's okay bc we got to teach him and he is Catholic so he already knows who God is which is so weird and very nice! It makes teaching the gospel a little bit easier!

Speaking of random people walking into our church, on Saturday we had a Russian come who just moved here and was looking for a Christian church to go to while he was staying in Vietnam. He looked up church and found ours! but when he clicked on our church on google maps it came up with a pic of the Salt Lake temple at night and he was like wow! I have got to find that church it is so beautiful! So he was a little disappointed when he actually got to the church and learned that it didn't actually look like the Salt Lake Temple. But we still invited him to church!

Since it is Tet season we also learned how to make banh chung!!! I'll include some pics below but it is so fun and sooo much work! The members made a huge activity and invited everyone and it took 2 days to prepared them make them cook them! we made like 200! It rocked and a bunch of investigators came.

On Friday we were making fires to cook the rice and beens that go in the banh chung and there was a homeless very drunk man yelling at us across the street. The member had some fun with him and then they got sick of it and so he stole our fire and took the flaming logs across the street to where he was sitting. Finally the members asked if we could go talk to him. So we went over with a couple members and just listened. He has some pretty major PTSD from the war and drinks a lot and it was so sad. We just held his hand while he cried and told us stories. It was seriously so cute. Then he called us angels and thought my comp was mother Mary and he got on his knees and kissed her hand a few times haha! but it just made me think about how "the worth of souls is great in the sight of God;" (D&C 18:10) God loves all of His children and wants all of us to have joy and live with him again. That is what I am here in Vietnam to help with. To bring these priceless souls unto Him. I'm so happy to be a part of His work.

Anyway I love and miss you all so much! keep on keeping on!
