And it came to pass that we did return without food to our families
What a whirlwind of a week! I say that because it was a crazy week and we have a typhoon headed our way. But not to worry! Saigon is not going to get hit with anything more that a little rain cuz we are pretty far from the actual storm.
This week we met with a guy we found on the street who is super religious but doesn't follow a religion. He was super pumped about the book of mormon and we invited him to meet with us. He had a lot to say that was so inline with what we believe and a couple of things not. We were planning on teaching the restoration but he kept bringing up happiness and trials so we taught the plan of salvation and showed him a picture of it and he just got real quiet and said "This is true." The spirit was so strong. But then he didn't want to meet cuz he will just ask his religious friends if he has any questions. I was so sad.
We also met with Co Ngoc and seriously the change in her has been so big! Ever since we gave her a baptismal date she has gone from being pretty quite in lessons and always saying she doesn't understand to always asking questions and sharing experiences and scriptures she liked in the book of mormon. She even wrote down a prayer that she wanted to say and showed it to us and was so proud of it! I am just amazed to see the spirit working "this mighty change in their hearts". We are beginning to se it in a couple others and it's awesome! It truly is amazing how much this gospel is about change and becoming better! I love it! Also Co Ngoc makes some killer Vietnamese food! So good
Also we were able to do some exchanges with the sisters this week and we just went crazy with the contacting to try to get them some more people to teach and it was super fun! We are finding some awesome ways to contact and some not so awesome ways to contact. Our elders also accidentally found some not so legal ways to contact and so that was a fun story!
Also we are helping out one of our investigators with english for a couple minutes each time we meet with him. Me and my comp and him all write a page about something in the other persons language and he always goes all out with pictures and stories and everything. This week he wrote about the mid autumn festival and brought us moon cakes! It was so sweet! Moon cakes are super weird though I'll tell you what.
Then Sunday was super good and Co Duc finally came to church so we were super excited!! And also we had a funny story where we went over to a potential investigator's house to teach them how to make spaghetti and share the Family Proclamation but we got talking about the church and they had so many questions and comments that we ran out of time! we felt sooo bad cuz they had not eaten yet and were thinking we were going to make them spaghetti which we were but we had to go! We were so hungry by that point and I bet they were too! but they want to learn the gospel which is way better than spaghetti anyways!
Okay wow so thats about it for today! Love you all! have a great week!
