Miracles, movies and soccer!

Hope everyone is doing well! We have a busy day so I'll make it short!

Miracle story: So this Monday we were getting ready to go to Pho Co with a member and see the old parts of Vietnam and we get a text from a guy we contacted the other week. This contacting story was nuts cuz basically we were trying to talk to people but apparently everyone was Korean that day and no one spoke English or Vietnamese. So I said a quick prayer in my head to find someone who had been prepared by the Lord and 2 secs later out walks with guy with a sign that says Alma on it. So I'm like lets go talk to him about the Book of Mormon and Alma. so we do and we get him to download the BoM on his phone cuz we cant give them out in public. He is super interested. So anyway he texts us and wants to meet us in like half an hour. SO we quickly plan a short lesson of prayer. We go into meet with him end up teaching the whole restoration and the at the end ask it he wants to be baptized and he says yes! So that rocked! it was pretty awesome!

Soccer: Holy cow people here love their soccer! The big Asia soccer tournament was this week and the whole city shut down to watch it. We were trying to teach lessons and there was just a constant buzz of people cheering! It was like a high school football game x10. After the first game Vietnam won and people went nuts!!! everyone was on there motor bike with flags shouting Vietnam!!! it was so funny and so crazy!!! All the shops shut down and people where just gathered everywhere to watch!

Movie Night: We put on a movie night this last Friday to watch the Joseph Smith movie because one of our members translated it into Vietnamese! We had one of our contacts come that we found when we were on the wrong bus. He is super interested (hopefully in the gospel and not in us). He did ask Chi Tam to date him though so we will definitely have the elders teach him haha! But after the movie he kept touching his heart and saying how special that was! and then he came to church the next day! it was awesome!

Spiritual thought: I love how much personality the people in the BoM have! I've been trying to read it to get to know them and the things they go through more especially in Alma. I've been reading a lot about Alma and Amulek and Ammon and their missions a lot and who they are. I encourage you if you haven't to go read Alma 8-16 about Alma and Amulek and 17-20. Ammon cracks me up he is so sassy! Also they are super awesome examples of missionary work!

Sorry for no email last week! our Zone decided to take a little trip to Brazil so we were a little busy! Jk jk don't worry we just went to the beach and hiked up to a Jesus statue that looks like the one in Brazil. It was sooo awesome! We got to go to Vung Tao Beach and hiked up a mountain- which I haven't hiked up a mountain, let alone seen a mountain in a very long time! It was awesome and so beautiful! and very very spiritual. There were little statues of Bible stories everywhere and inside the Jesus Statue were pictures of His life and a little place to worship. You could also climb to the very top on his shoulders and see everything! It was cool cuz we literally came unto Christ. Kinda fun to think about These past 2 weeks have been crazy! We had an awesome Zone conference last week that gave me a ton of direction as far as how to do missionary work and I feel like since then the work has just been on fire! A Bible! A bible! we have a bible

At zone conference we all got Vietnamese bibles so that was super exciting! we have been running into a lot of people of Christian faiths and so to be able to use the bible now will be super great! Speaking of Zone conference it was so amazing. We focused on recognizing the Holy Ghost. There are 4 lessons you could say of how the spirit prompts us. One is revelation but not knowing beforehand, so being lead even though you don't know you are being lead. this comes as you are obedient and strive to follow Gods will (think of Nephi getting the brass plates). The Second is revelation through repetition. So when you read something or learn something a million times and then one day something clicks and your understanding deepens. The next is revelation as a conclusion so like a prompting to do something even though you don't know why. And then revelation as time, so knowing what you need to do already but understanding the right time (Like extending an invitation at the right tim

I can do all things through Christ which stregtheneth me- week 4

Holy cow it has been quite a week!! and guess what! I have offically been here for one month!! which is crazy!! Anyway I started out the week with an awesome devotional from Brent H. Neilson of the 70. His wife spoke about missions and related it to a 10k she ran on the fourth of July this past summer! Oh my maybe it's cuz I ran once upon a time but it hit me so hard!! man it was good! but she made 4 points. She said: 1) "I knew very little about running but I knew enough to run the race".  As a missionary I know very little about being a missionary but I know enough to come out here and serve the Lord 2)"I learned I wasn't the best in the race but I wasn't the worst." I am not the best missionary out here. 'Ill be honest I thought I would (haha) be but it's been humbling to see I still need to improve a lot! But I am also not the worst. I am trusting in God and doing my best 3)"I wasnt running alone." I am not running alone.
