Get ready for Xuan (Spring)

It must be Tet time we got cancelled on soooo much!

Here's a funny one though. So we have an investigator and her english name is apple. She is so funny and her english is soo good! But anyway she was supposed to meet for an appointment and she was a little late so we give her a call and in a very harsh very dramatic whisper she says "Connell. Can you hear me? I don't think I can make it. I cant see the sky." I was very concerned but also it was so hard not to laugh. Then she says "Don't worry though I will pray to the Lord." I was super happy to hear that. We have only met once and we briefly shared about Heavenly Father and we haven't even taught her how to pray. She is also buddhist so to hear something like that was so fun!

We were able to give a lot of our investigators baptismal dates and it was so fun when they are so accepting and willing! Sometimes they just hold on to every single word and they just feel it and want it! It makes missionary work so much fun! We have so many young men that we are teaching and it's so fun to see them on this path that they are going and imagining them holding the priesthood, blessing the sacrament, and going to the temple. One of them was a referral from another one of our investigators and they are so excited to learn together. We had our investigator teach his friends how to pray and why we pray and it was so so cute!

One of our investigators named Hoang Minh is progressing really well but the other day he said something really funny. He said "So I came here and started meeting to learn English. And so far I have not learned english at all. But I guess this is cool too and I think I like this better!" Yesss! As much as I love the opportunity to teach and serve people by teaching english I am so happy when someone would rather learn the gospel than english!

Honestly thats about all I can remember! We have lots of new people who are fun to teach and lots of hard people who are also fun to teach when they actually meet. Also we got transfer calls and I am staying here and my new companion is the other Chi Xuan. So its gunna be Chi Xuan the elder and Chi Xuan the younger haha. Should be good

Sorry for no email last week! our Zone decided to take a little trip to Brazil so we were a little busy! Jk jk don't worry we just went to the beach and hiked up to a Jesus statue that looks like the one in Brazil. It was sooo awesome! We got to go to Vung Tao Beach and hiked up a mountain- which I haven't hiked up a mountain, let alone seen a mountain in a very long time! It was awesome and so beautiful! and very very spiritual. There were little statues of Bible stories everywhere and inside the Jesus Statue were pictures of His life and a little place to worship. You could also climb to the very top on his shoulders and see everything! It was cool cuz we literally came unto Christ. Kinda fun to think about These past 2 weeks have been crazy! We had an awesome Zone conference last week that gave me a ton of direction as far as how to do missionary work and I feel like since then the work has just been on fire! A Bible! A bible! we have a bible

At zone conference we all got Vietnamese bibles so that was super exciting! we have been running into a lot of people of Christian faiths and so to be able to use the bible now will be super great! Speaking of Zone conference it was so amazing. We focused on recognizing the Holy Ghost. There are 4 lessons you could say of how the spirit prompts us. One is revelation but not knowing beforehand, so being lead even though you don't know you are being lead. this comes as you are obedient and strive to follow Gods will (think of Nephi getting the brass plates). The Second is revelation through repetition. So when you read something or learn something a million times and then one day something clicks and your understanding deepens. The next is revelation as a conclusion so like a prompting to do something even though you don't know why. And then revelation as time, so knowing what you need to do already but understanding the right time (Like extending an invitation at the right tim

I can do all things through Christ which stregtheneth me- week 4

Holy cow it has been quite a week!! and guess what! I have offically been here for one month!! which is crazy!! Anyway I started out the week with an awesome devotional from Brent H. Neilson of the 70. His wife spoke about missions and related it to a 10k she ran on the fourth of July this past summer! Oh my maybe it's cuz I ran once upon a time but it hit me so hard!! man it was good! but she made 4 points. She said: 1) "I knew very little about running but I knew enough to run the race".  As a missionary I know very little about being a missionary but I know enough to come out here and serve the Lord 2)"I learned I wasn't the best in the race but I wasn't the worst." I am not the best missionary out here. 'Ill be honest I thought I would (haha) be but it's been humbling to see I still need to improve a lot! But I am also not the worst. I am trusting in God and doing my best 3)"I wasnt running alone." I am not running alone.
