Line upon Line (Week 3)

Well it has been another very packed week! The number one lesson I have learned this week is that when we learn Gods way then its line upon line, here a little and there a little. I have learned this as I study Vietnamese! Its frustrating because I just want to know it all right now. I want to be able to go out and teach and share my testimony and say whats in my heart. But that s not how it works. We learn a little bit at a time and if  we accept what we learn and use it the Lord will give us more.

Anyway this week was pretty much the same as last week. We studied, we went to 6 hours of class a day, we learned so Vietnamese, we drank some chocolate milk and a whole bunch of other stuff. Although this week we started TRC's which is basically where we get to talk to just your everyday members of the church who come and volunteer at the MTC and we get to teach them little lessons like visiting teaching. Its super fun cuz its real people not just actors and even though we have to speak Vietnamese the environment is super chill! I love it! One of the people we taught was actually one of our teachers twins so that was super weird. They also served in the exact same mission and our teacher was his twin's trainer! how crazy is that!

This past week we have been able to get super close to our whole zone! We have Cambodian, Thai, Mong and Vietnamese speaking elders and sisters in our zone. All the Mong and Thai already left and the Cambodians leave today which is so sad but i am so excited for them!! but tomorrow we get new Thai and Mong missionaries and we get to host! which just means we pick them up from their cars and show them to their rooms! I'm so excited for that!

This last Friday was way cool though because it was the new MTC building dedication! President Eyring and Elder Oaks and Sister Oscarson were there and we were like on the fourth row!! it was so cool! They are such happy people and you could just feel their spirits and testimonies!

Also Elder Christopherson came and spoke to us last Tuesday for the devotional and it was broadcasted to all the MTCs in the world! Also the camera man before hand was all "Hey you guys look like good examples of missionaries so im going to film you so dont make weird faces or look at the camera." So basically I am now famous all over the world haha! Anyway Elder Christopherson talked about the Book of Mormon and how important it is! It was sooo good! The Book of Mormon is so important!

Thats about all! I wish i could fit everything in but I either forget it or run out of time! anyway thanks for all your love and letters! I love hearing from all of you!

Sorry for no email last week! our Zone decided to take a little trip to Brazil so we were a little busy! Jk jk don't worry we just went to the beach and hiked up to a Jesus statue that looks like the one in Brazil. It was sooo awesome! We got to go to Vung Tao Beach and hiked up a mountain- which I haven't hiked up a mountain, let alone seen a mountain in a very long time! It was awesome and so beautiful! and very very spiritual. There were little statues of Bible stories everywhere and inside the Jesus Statue were pictures of His life and a little place to worship. You could also climb to the very top on his shoulders and see everything! It was cool cuz we literally came unto Christ. Kinda fun to think about These past 2 weeks have been crazy! We had an awesome Zone conference last week that gave me a ton of direction as far as how to do missionary work and I feel like since then the work has just been on fire! A Bible! A bible! we have a bible

At zone conference we all got Vietnamese bibles so that was super exciting! we have been running into a lot of people of Christian faiths and so to be able to use the bible now will be super great! Speaking of Zone conference it was so amazing. We focused on recognizing the Holy Ghost. There are 4 lessons you could say of how the spirit prompts us. One is revelation but not knowing beforehand, so being lead even though you don't know you are being lead. this comes as you are obedient and strive to follow Gods will (think of Nephi getting the brass plates). The Second is revelation through repetition. So when you read something or learn something a million times and then one day something clicks and your understanding deepens. The next is revelation as a conclusion so like a prompting to do something even though you don't know why. And then revelation as time, so knowing what you need to do already but understanding the right time (Like extending an invitation at the right tim

I can do all things through Christ which stregtheneth me- week 4

Holy cow it has been quite a week!! and guess what! I have offically been here for one month!! which is crazy!! Anyway I started out the week with an awesome devotional from Brent H. Neilson of the 70. His wife spoke about missions and related it to a 10k she ran on the fourth of July this past summer! Oh my maybe it's cuz I ran once upon a time but it hit me so hard!! man it was good! but she made 4 points. She said: 1) "I knew very little about running but I knew enough to run the race".  As a missionary I know very little about being a missionary but I know enough to come out here and serve the Lord 2)"I learned I wasn't the best in the race but I wasn't the worst." I am not the best missionary out here. 'Ill be honest I thought I would (haha) be but it's been humbling to see I still need to improve a lot! But I am also not the worst. I am trusting in God and doing my best 3)"I wasnt running alone." I am not running alone.
