Welcome to the MTC

Xin Chao family and friends!
I hope all is going well! i love it here in the MTC! it seriously has such a sweet spirit and i LOVE it!! It is super duper hard work for sure and extremely humbling but awesome! im so glad i have the Lord on my side!!

Week 1
Wednesday: got dropped off and all ready to go and as soon as i got into my class room i didnt hear a single word of english the next 4 hours! holy it was crazy. But then we had a devotional (all in english thank goodness) and the MTC presidents wife told us two things that MTC stands for
1) make this count- we have just a small amount of time hear so we must work our hardest
2) make the change- missionary life is so different from normal life and the sooner we can make the change into what the Lord wants us to be the better

Thursday: today we had alot of class time and i still dont know much of what was said cuz its all vietnamese but you could feel the spirit. We had one elder in our district who was really srtuggling because he felt like everyone was happy and he wasnt. He missed his family and didnt watn to be on a mission anymore. So he told our teach and he changed the lesson to fit our needs about what our purpose was and how we can better adjust and BOOM! the spirit walk right into the room and holy cow it was strong. Then we kinda shared our feelings and testimonies and it was dope to see these elder men cry!!! i loved it!

Friday: today we taught our "investigator" in vietnamese for the first time and it wasnt good. We just read all the translations we wrote down and it was so boring for Anh Thien (our investigator) it was good practice though. Also we challenged him to read the book of mormon but we didnt have one for him so he tried to take ours and was trying to pay us for it and we could stop laughing after that!

Saturday-Sunday: Oh my heck i love General Conference!! it was so awesome! i dont know if its just cuz i am a missionary but i feel like it was all about missionary work or could at least apply to missionary work! I loved every single one of the talks! i cant choose which ones my favorite but one i didnt like that hit hard was when John Pingree talked about how God has a work for use and he will make sure to prepare us for that work!! We are a pencil in Gods hands.

Moday: very similar to Friday. We had class and taugh our investigator again burt i accidently broke my pen while we were teaching him and then my companion burst out laughing and it was so funny. also we got exercise time today and it serously was the best! i felt so much better and happier and less stressed so that rocked!!

Language: its coming along. Its super hard and extremely humbling! but it is coming along. I havent even been here a week and i can form sentences and recognize alot of what the teacher says! its been dope! the gift of tongues is real but we still have to work hard for it!

Companion: she is seriously so sweet but its been hard for me being with someone 24/7. she alwasy is doing service for me which is teaching me to let people serve me. i normal like doing things on my own so i am learning alot of important skills about working with others!

Scripture of the week: Ether 12:27- go look it up if you dont already know it. its seriously has helped me everyday this week!

Well well well that is all i have for you today!
Love and miss you all!
