"His order and calling should have power, by faith, to break mountains"

Xin Chao Moi Nguoi! Holy cow it has been a crazy week and we have seriously seen the Hand of the Lord so much this week! This last Monday we got to meet with a girl named Chi Nguyet. She was brought to the church by a man who lives in California and was here for vacation. He couldn't find our church so asked for help from this lady and she showed him where it was and he invited her to come in for sacrament meeting and she wants to learn about our church now! It was so random and awesome! So if you are trying to figure out a good place to go on vacation feel free to come here and have some natives help you find the church haha! Tuesday we had district meeting and talked about mountains and overcoming hard things and how good it feels when we get to the top. Our whole district had a hard week and so we were discussing that but the whole time I had "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus playing though my head haha! But seriously mountains are a part of life. Sometimes they are ste...

So there is a saying that goes around here that says you're not a missionary in Vietnam until you have had your first crash. So let's just say I am officially a missionary! Haha it wasn't a bad crash just enough to be legit and spill all of my companion's and my french croissants all over the road. I think that was the worst part was loosing those croissants! We got to go to the hospital and check out my back and the doctors were way cool! They were all from the Phillipines and guess what!? they knew who mormons were! One was even an investigator 3 years ago and still talks to the Elders who taught him! So we invited them all to church gave them what was left of our croissants and headed out on our way! So yeah that explains the picture below! Other than that it's been a pretty chill week! The language is always hard but we are getting some good laughs out of it. I got to translate for the American families on Sunday for sacrament and holy cow it was so hard! But ...

So let's just say this week has been HOT HOT HOT. It's getting into the summer part of the year and man I have never sweat so much in my life! The past couple days have been 100'F and like 98% humidity. But that just part of missionary work I guess! This week started out pretty chill. Tuesday we met with Chi Be and it was awesome cuz we went back through the plan of salvation since she did not understand it at all last time. It was awesome though cuz at the end she said she totally understood what we said! Which is good progress cuz usually she doesn't! Then we got a baptismal date for her which is awesome!! we also did some service and got laughed at again cuz we never know what people are saying haha. Then had some dinner with some American members in our branch who have lived here for 7 years! Wednesday was a busy day. We had 2 appointments fall through and a crazy adventure to find a potential investigator's house. We took so many buses and walked so far and...

We Thank Thee O God for a Prophet

Xin chao moi nguoi! Heyo, hope you all have had a fantastic week and have had the opportunity to revisit some of the conference talks from this last week! We had to wait for the translation for our branch so we just watched it this last weekend and oh my goodness I loved every second of it! The solemn assembly was such an amazing experience. I felt the spirit and I know that Pres. Neilson is a true prophet of God who truly leads and guides God's true church on the Earth today! I am so grateful for that! I challenge each of you to go back and make conference talks a part of your daily scripture study! This week started with MLC. We went up to Hanoi for a couple of days and focused on teaching the Atonement of Jesus Christ to all ages. As stated by Elder Uchdorf, it is the single most important event in History. This being said it is so important to teach it to people's understanding so they know the significance of it in their own life! It was really cool to ponder how to tea...

Xin Chao Gia Dinh va Ban cua Chi!! Happy Easter!!! I hope all of you enjoyed your conference weekend! We havent yet watched it cuz we have to wait for the translations for the members but I am soo excited!! This past week was the end of another transfer, and we said goodbye to Anh ca Cao and Chi Thuy Anh. So now I am back in just a normal companionship! It's great but we have gotten lost so many times! mostly cuz we don't know the area or the language but hey we get some good contacting in and we have actually gotten a few appointments in for next week from trying to figure out where we are going! so that rocks. When you are on a mission you are never really lost cuz you are where the Lord wants you to be! Anyway we have been meeting with our investigators are ton this week! I have never gone through lessons so fast! and a plus to not knowing the language great is everyone stays very focused and we don't get side tracked at all cuz we don't know how to say anythin...

If there must be faith there must also be hope; and if there must be hope there must also be charity

Xin chao moi nguoi So officially I have been out on the mission for 6 months! that is insane! I can't even believe it! I have learned and grown more in this past 6 months than probably any other time in my life. While I still don't know the language perfectly or how to teach perfectly I am so grateful I can be in Vietnam and help others. I'm so grateful for all I have become and the opportunity to learn about my Savior and follow His example. This week has been another crazy week. We had a lesson with an investigator with really hard deep questions about the Plan of Salvation and they were questions that I'm sure everyone at some point has. It was hard though cuz they are just the kind of questions where you just have to trust God's plan even if you don't know the answers and he didn't really like that. But afterward we taught Chi Hoa again and she is just awesome! she just listens and enjoys what we say and her son is literally the cutest kid ever. We a...

bonjour amis et famille! ^^ that's not Vietnamese that's French. Why? I'll tell you in a sec. So this week has been crazy. Monday we had interviews with President and turns out I was going to be transferred to Ho Chi Minh! So hello from the South. It's so different here. Hanoi is basically a mix of New York and DC (so lots of business people and students) and the South is like California. A lot more chill and laid back and so many families and children! and holy cow it's so hot and humid! I am so grateful for Air Conditioning! Also the food, fruit, smoothies and juices are cheaper so that rocks! Anyway, I also have a new companion who is from France and knows about as much English as i know of Vietnamese. So I might come back knowing French and Vietnamese so that rocks. Anyway before I moved out we had mission conference on Wednesday and Elder Stevenson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. I saw him in the MTC too so it was super cool to hear from him again!...
